Located in the heart of Ascot, Brisbane, Hutongli Bar & Restaurant is a stylish and

vibrant dining destination specialising in authentic Chinese cuisine.

We are passionate about delivering high-quality dishes with traditional flavours, modern

presentation, and warm hospitality.

We're now looking for a skilled and dedicated Chef to join our team and bring creativity,

consistency, and expertise to our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and create menus highlighting authentic and innovative Chinese dishes.

  • Estimate food and labour costs, and manage ingredient purchasing efficiently.

  • Supervise food preparation to maintain top quality and presentation.

  • Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff to perform at their best.

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and workplace health & safety standards.

  • Organise and oversee kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Maintain a positive and professional kitchen culture.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a chef in a busy restaurant.

  • Strong knowledge and passion for Chinese cuisine.

  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain quality standards.

Salary & Benefits

  • Annual salary: AUD $76,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and skills.
