Senior Manager Line 1 Risk Technology

The Senior Manager ensures that risk management frameworks and strategies are effectively integrated into business operations, strengthening the organisation's control environment, improving its risk position, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role also promotes innovative risk management solutions, aligning risk practices with the strategic direction and growth objectives of BOQ.

The Senior Manager provides Technology risk SME advice, in the design of IT general controls and their embedment across the Group.

Additionally you'll be responsible for providing pragmatic risk advice, identifying risks, and supporting the business in removing complexity and driving a reduction in risk. You'll deliver risk insights that aid management in decision-making, manage and advise on all Risk Management Strategy, supporting frameworks and standards, and deliver risk governance activities.

About You

To thrive in this role, you'll join us with previous leadership experience in complex organisations, within financial services or a related industry.

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field, and possess professional certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, CISA, CRISC, ISO200, PCI/DSS, CGEIT, CDPSE, and CISSP, which are highly desirable.

With extensive experience in risk management, including experience in a leadership role, you have a proven track record of supporting the development and implementation of risk management frameworks and IT general control uplift programs. Your background in financial services or the technology-related industry, coupled with specific domain experience in Technology, Cloud, and AI, makes you a valuable asset.

Your strong logical reasoning skills and attention to detail are complemented by exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, allowing you to articulate messages clearly and effectively. You excel in performing reviews of critical processes, determining root causes, identifying control gaps and weaknesses, and finding simplification opportunities. Your analytical prowess enables you to analyze trends, identify threats and opportunities, diagnose issues, and recommend appropriate actions.

You are committed to continuous learning and fostering a high-performing team culture. Your deep understanding of risk management principles and practices, combined with your ability to demonstrate thought leadership and influence stakeholders at all levels, sets you apart. You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Your strong organizational and project management skills ensure that you can manage complex projects efficiently and effectively.
