SPS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health & Safety Supervisor to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring that our operations meet the highest health and safety standards while complying with all regulatory and legislative requirements under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Qld Mining and Quarrying Health and Safety Act.

About the Role:

Southern Pacific Sands is a leading supplier of quality washed silica sand, bio – retention filtration medium, soil products and quality ready mixed concrete, servicing Brisbane and Southeast Queensland.

You will be responsible for implementing and managing safety systems across SPS operations. You'll promote a safety-first culture, drive compliance, and support our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, between 7.00am and 4:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and embed a safety-first culture across all levels
  • Build relationships with all SPS personnel
  • Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, and near misses
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections
  • Develop, review and implement SOPs, inductions, and training
  • Coordinate injury management and return-to-work programs
  • Ensure documentation meets regulatory and internal standards
  • Oversee IMS audits and ensure ISO system compliance (9001, 45001, 14001)
  • Administer safety systems including MEX and Qudos software
  • Manage site radiation licensing, dust monitoring & drug testing

What We're Looking For:

  • Formal qualifications in Health & Safety is desired
  • 5-10 years' experience in a health and safety role
  • Strong communication, influencing and leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001 & 14001 systems
