Draftsperson

Main responsibilities and duties include:

• Produce high level designs and drawings in 2D and 3D CAD software to customer specifications and needs

• Provide technical workshop drawings accurately using CAD software (Revit, AutoCAD, Autosketch) within designated time frames

• Prepare documentation for planning permission and building approvals and liaise with the appropriate government authorities (I.e. Shires) to gain such permission and approvals

• Work closely with Manager Construction and Sales to provide appropriate costing of sheds/structured designed to support quoting process

• Work closely with Manager Design and Fabrication to ensure drawings are delivered on time and with the necessary instruction to the fabrication team

• Collaborate with welders on any questions regarding technical drawings

• Manage and maintain project documentation and drawings register

• Ensure standards, legislation and industry best practice is adhered to

• Actively contribute to research and development initiatives regarding shed design

• Periodically analyse the design process, including software, and make suggestions for improvement in an effort to increase efficiency and quality

• Other duties as required

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Advanced Diploma in Drafting

• Valid C Class drivers licence, LR or HR class licence advantageous

Experience:

• Experience in producing steel fabrication workshop drawings, or similar, using CAD software

• More than 5 years' experience in building/construction or similar industry

• Familiar with structural computations

• Working knowledge of Australian drawing standards and local town planning requirements

• Experience in welding and fabrication of steel structures, advantageous

Skills and Requirements:

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Subcontract

Pay: $75,500.00 – $95,000.00 per year
