Doral Mineral Sands Pty Ltd(DMS), has well established heavy mineral sands mining and processing facilities near Bunbury, Busselton and Mandurah in the Southwest of WA. As part of the company's growth strategy, we are looking to broaden our mineral sands operations within the Gascoyne region of WA.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience in a similar role - mineral sands experience is a bonus.

The position will be responsible for the successful completion of the following duties and roles:

  • Manage the electrical trade skills necessary to maintain the site's plant to ensure production targets and plant availability is maintained.

  • Provide leadership input into the development and continuous improvement of maintenance, inspection and testing schedules.

  • Update and Keep records of maintenance and testing activities and spares.

  • Liaise closely with Production personnel and nurture a team ownership approach to Maintenance.

  • Plan and organise daily and weekly maintenance schedules

  • Liaise with operational coordinators to finalise priorities for maintenance and minor project work.

  • Supervises contract labour, apprentices and other labour as necessary to complete maintenance work.

  • Provide leadership input into the cost and effectiveness of plant maintenance, spares and inventory levels.

  • Provide leadership input into the development and ongoing improvement in JSAs for tasks within your area of responsibility.

  • Ensure that Electrical and Instrument inspections, testing and project works are carried out in accordance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.

  • Help maintain the maintenance management system (Pronto) such that accurate and up to date entries are made.

  • Maintain the software and hardware of the plant computerised process control system.

  • Make program logic changes as required.

  • Help and support other personnel within and outside your department where appropriate.

  • Provide training of personnel, including operators and apprentices as required.

Key factors to your success include;

  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Current Unrestricted WA Electrical License
  • Current Drivers License
  • Cert IV in Instrumentation, or equivalent, an advantage
  • HV Switching experience
  • Industrial Gas Maintenance experience
  • In house Electrical Nominee experience
  • Post trade training and competence in PLC and Citect programming
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with excellent problem-solving skills
  • A genuine commitment to the well-being and safety for yourself and your work colleagues
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and safety-first mindset
