Are you passionate about shaping safer systems, elevating organisational performance, and influencing the future of safety across a dynamic, high-risk environment? Coast Entertainment is seeking an experienced
System Safety & Assurance Specialist
to drive the integrity, compliance, and continual improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS) and Safety Case.

In this pivotal role, you will champion system safety principles across the organisation—ensuring risks are controlled so far as is reasonably practicable (SFAIRP)—while providing assurance that our safety performance meets regulatory requirements and supports strategic objectives.

As The System Safety & Assurance Specialist, You Will
Strengthen System Safety

  • Lead continuous improvement of the SMS to align with WHS Regulation, ISO 45001, and aviation-style safety frameworks.
  • Integrate system safety, risk management, and assurance activities into everyday operations.
  • Apply system safety methodologies to identify, analyse, and control systemic risks.
  • Facilitate and maintain safety assessments for amusement devices.

Own and Evolve the Safety Case

  • Oversee the ongoing development and maturity of the organisation's Safety Case.
  • Ensure the Safety Case reflects operational changes, control effectiveness, and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate regulatory engagements and Safety Case submissions.

Deliver Assurance & Governance Excellence

  • Support the development and execution of the annual assurance plan.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits to verify compliance and performance.
  • Guide leaders on effective risk controls, corrective actions, and system-focused solutions.
  • Monitor action close-out and verify the effectiveness of improvement measures.

Lead, Influence, and Elevate Safety Culture

  • Champion a safety-by-design approach across departments.
  • Provide coaching, expertise, and thought leadership in system safety, SMS, and risk management.
  • Represent Coast Entertainment in industry and regulatory safety forums.

We're Looking For Someone With

  • Demonstrated experience in system safety or Safety Case development in high-risk industries (aviation, rail, defence, energy, or theme parks).
  • Proven capability working with CASA, ICAO, ISO 45001 or similar safety frameworks.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Safety Management (or related field), or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • ISO9001 Lead Auditor training (or equivalent).
  • Experience with risk assessment, change management, and safety program facilitation.
  • Ability to thrive under competing priorities with a positive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience developing policies, manuals, and procedures in regulated, safety-critical environments.
  • Effective conflict-resolution and influencing skills.

Desirable

  • Aviation safety experience within a High Capacity RPT environment
  • Training in Human Factors or System Safety Engineering
  • Experience working with regulators
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools for productivity
  • Familiarity with Bow-Tie or similar hazard analysis methodologies
