The Role

Based in our Carole Park facility you will lead a dynamic team of engineers during an ongoing period of exciting change, including the roll-out of market-leading technologies and expansion to our current operations.

This position will champion Century's 'Safety-First' culture and ensure EH&S tasks are identified, prioritised and completed in a timely manner, as well as ensuring all equipment, machinery and systems are compliant with relevant Australian Standards, Regulations and Codes of Practice. You will report and work closely with the General Manager of operations to create strategic plans and visions

In addition, you must lead your team to develop continuous improvement initiatives as well as improve existing asset efficiency, ensuring Century Yuasa Batteries manufacturing operations continue to be as safe, efficient and innovative as it can be.

This role is a full time Monday to Friday position which will include occasional travel both interstate and overseas

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary level degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Production Engineering
  • Previous experience in a similar manufacturing role (minimum six years)
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to manufacturing products of consistent high-quality levels in an ISO 9001 Management System
  • Strong communication and customer service skills to nurture and build internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Proven track record of implementation of continuous improvement regimes
  • Strong decision making, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong system and computer skills
  • Experience with Robotics and PLC automated machinery/equipment
  • Prior experience researching new technologies to ensure product innovation and site improvement
  • Project management Qualification or experience
  • Cost Control and budgeting experience

Desirable

  • Good understanding of manufacturing accounting methods
  • Prior experience with recruitment and performance management
