About the opportunity
Be part of the Bioscience academic team within the School of Health Sciences where you will undertake teaching, scholarship of learning & teaching, and service activities with a range of disciplines and units. The teaching will focus particularly on pathophysiology and supporting anatomy and physiology of the human body for Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedicine students at the undergraduate level. There is also the potential to be involved in teaching other courses including exercise science and biomedicine. You will contribute to a School committed to a set of workplace principles which facilitate a culture we are proud of, and that fosters staff wellbeing while enabling us to achieve our collective mission.
What you'll do:
- Undertake scholarly coursework teaching, including unit coordination of large units (600+ students), development of teaching materials, delivery of teaching and student assessment, including the utilisation of emerging technologies and simulation-based education.
- Coordinate coursework units ensuring regular quality review cycles of student outcomes, satisfaction results, complaints, academic integrity breaches, and professional and academic developments.
- Develop and maintain productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally.
- Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives.
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrated achievement in University-level multidisciplinary learning and teaching, with experience of flexible learning and familiarity with innovative blended learning & teaching andragogy and digital technologies.
- Experience in University level curriculum development and teaching with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver dynamic and relevant learning experiences.
- Evidence of leading, designing and implementing best practice assessment and student learning outcomes at unit or course level.
- A demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective and productive links locally and nationally.
- Demonstrated evidence of teaching Pathophysiology into health sciences is desirable.
- Completion of an Honours or higher degree, or equivalent, in a field of health sciences.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $155,885 comprising base salary within the range of $114,766 to $133,235 plus 17% superannuation.
