About the role

The role is based on site at the Sydney Campus but involves working closely with the Fremantle Campus team and occasional travel to other education sites to support clinical skills assessment and teaching activities. The position also collaborates extensively with the National Head of Assessment and assessment team in the planning and delivery of assessment tasks.Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the preparation, review and delivery of clinical skills continuous assessments and OSCE examinations at all campuses for the Sydney MD program.
• Train and calibrate examiners, actors and volunteer simulated patients for clinical examinations.
• Develop, collate, and blueprint formative and summative written examinations to align with the curriculum for all years of the MD program in consultation with the National Head of CCP and National Head of Assessment.
• Assist with quality assurance and review of examination items, and quality improvement activities.
• Support Communication and Clinical Practice initiatives, including introducing changes to teaching and learning activities.
• Support the Volunteer Simulated Patient program, including recruitment, selection and training.
• Collaborate with national team in development and implementation of national MD curriculum.
• Review teaching resources in consultation with relevant teaching staff and the Head of CCP Domain to ensure alignment, currency and quality.
• Provide coordination support to activities, including workshops, back-to-base program clinical skills sessions, and lectures, and deliver teaching.
• Effectively use technology platforms to support the delivery of assessments and maintain a database of examination questions under the direction of the Head of Assessment.
• Participate in research related to the CCP Domain and support the supervision of students in the Medical Education theme.

Qualifications, skills & experience

• Possession of a medical degree registrable with AHPRA and one of a Fellowship qualification in Medicine, Health or Medical Education OR a PhD, OR equivalent experience and standing in a relevant discipline area of more than 5 years.
• Experience in evidence–based clinical skills teaching and delivery.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, delivery and/or assessment in medical education, preferably in the health context and in a tertiary setting.
• Well-developed organisation and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning and teaching programs (e.g. Blackboard), or willingness to learn.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a range of academic, clinical, administrative and/or technical staff in a complex environment.
• Accurate and thorough in document management, with excellent attention to detail.
• Adaptable and proactive, with demonstrated ability to prioritise and follow through on tasks, solve problems effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
