Technical Business Analyst | 6-Month Federal Contract | Hybrid, Canberra

We're working with a leading federal government agency to find a Technical Business Analyst with strong data analytics capability who thrives in documentation-heavy environments and enjoys transforming complex conversations into clear, actionable insights.

The Role

This contract offers an initial 6-month engagement with a strong possibility of extension, based in Canberra with a hybrid work model. You'll be joining a project team focused on data and analytics initiatives, contributing hands-on by crafting high-quality documentation that supports procurement, implementation, and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create clear technical documentation, process maps, and supporting artefacts using tools like Visio and Confluence
  • Prepare POC, Pilot, and RFQ packs (scope, success criteria, technical specs)
  • Contribute to tender processes with functional and technical input
  • Document current/future state processes, integrations (ETL, APIs), and data flows
  • Support rollout readiness with transition planning and migration docs

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst or BA with a technical/documentation focus
  • Is confident in visualising systems and processes (e.g., swimlane diagrams, data flow diagrams)
  • Understands data and analytics environments (data lakes, APIs, ETL, cloud)
  • Works well independently and brings structure and clarity to ambiguous conversations
