Reporting to the Executive Manager Financial Crime Compliance Detection, you will lead scenario and business requirement reviews of technology changes that impact financial crime processes and detection systems. You will be required regularly to engage with project teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for financial crime projects.

The Financial Crime Compliance team provides support to the Group's domestic and international operations. Protecting the banks integrity, reputation and community providing robust foundations and proactive support to enable the business to be confident in its accountability for managing Financial Crime Risk.

Your team, Financial Crime Compliance Detection (FCCD) team is responsible for responsible for analysing financial crime data, implementing detection strategies that mitigate risk and prevent financial loss whilst ensuring minimal impacts to customer experience, product profitability and reputation. FCCD support financial crime technology projects including input into business requirements, solution design, testing and change management. FCCD aim to be world class in capability, provide actionable insights that help increase efficiency of the detection system, improve operational efficiency, be trusted partners and the team that everyone wants to work for.

On any given day, you will

  • Work collaboratively with Financial Crime Domain (FCD) to support financial crime projects including input into business requirements, solution design, and testing and change management.
  • Review and circulate submissions from FCD prior to relevant forums.
  • Participate in weekly sessions with delivery teams in FCD to understand and elicit change requirements and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Support strategic uplift of controls or processes for efficient and effective risk management of financial crime projects.
  • Facilitate prompt escalation of financial crime related matters to the relevant FCC Personnel as necessary.

  • Experience in governance, compliance and risk management processes
  • Strong document production and reporting skills.
  • Experience and understanding of technology change management and AML / CTF and Sanctions regulations
  • Agile delivery experience and strong critical thinking
  • Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder communication
  • Ability to rapidly acquire deep understanding across multiple, complex subject matter areas
  • Tertiary qualifications in an IT discipline or experience in financial services (desirable)
