Rangers work in partnership with local communities and other stakeholders to contribute to the land management, recreational and conservation outcomes across the protected areas. The OO4 Ranger will report directly to the Senior Project Officer and the OO5 and assists in the delivery of operational work programs relating specifically to the acquisition of Varna Station and will play a key role in transitioning the property into a National Park. The role will work closely with the Northern Mulga work unit, which includes Mariala, Hell Hole, Tregole, Chesterton Range national parks.

The Ideal Candidate:
· Displays a keen interest in protected area management.
· Coordinating and leading prescribed burning, fuel reduction and wildfire response
· Exhibits strong organisational skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks with precision.
· Ability to support and share skills with a diverse group of people.
