knowSTRENGTH is a gym dedicated to empowering our members through knowledegable and evidence-based strength training.

We focus on building human capacity, resilience, and confidence by prioritizing movement quality and safe, effective technique. Our semi-private training model allows for personalized coaching in a small group setting, fostering a close supportive coaching environment.

We are now seeking a passionate new Strength Coach to join our team and continue our mission of delivering exceptional coaching.

The Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Strength Coach to guide and instruct our members. Your primary responsibility will be to educate and coach individuals and small groups through their strength training programs, ensuring movements are performed with sound technique as well as explaining the purpose of their training.

You will be the key person on the floor, building rapport with members, providing real-time technique feedback, and fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere.

This is a hands-on coaching role for someone who is genuinely passionate about helping others achieve their strength and fitness goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and educate members in a semi-private setting, ensuring proper execution of exercises and movement.
  • Assess movement accurately and provide expert, actionable feedback on technique.
  • Educate members on anatomy and biomechanics in an accessible way to help them understand the why behind their training.
  • Motivate and support members to help them build consistency and achieve their personal capacity and strength goals.
  • Assist in managing and tracking member progress.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and inclusive training environment for all.

Who We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate is a coachable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual with a solid foundation in strength training principles. You have a keen eye for detail and a desire to grow as a professional coach.

Essential Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Current Certificate IV in Fitness (or higher, e.g., Diploma).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • A sound understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology.
  • A passion for strength training and a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A proactive, team-player attitude with high levels of integrity and reliability.

Desirable (But Not Essential):

  • Previous experience coaching in a gym or semi-private environment.
  • Additional certifications in strength and conditioning (e.g., ASCA, Pn1, FMS, etc.).
  • Personal experience with structured strength training.
