Australia CITY OF SALISBURY Full time $70,000 - $120,000 per year

The role:

Our team is seeking a dedicated, well-organised, and highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team. As part of Council's Rapid Response & Signage unit, you'll be a first responder to safety-critical incidents reported through the Customer Centre, ensuring rapid and effective action.

Key Responsibilities:

This position undertakes duties in support of Council's maintenance operations as listed below:

  • General Park and landscape maintenance: mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, watering, litter removal, and track upkeep
  • Tree and branch removal, including deceased animal collection
  • Playground and structure maintenance
  • Sign installation and temporary signage setup
  • Road pothole repairs and graffiti removal/painting
  • Safe and competent operation of machinery (ride-on mowers, tractors) and vehicles (medium truck/ute)
  • Supporting other departments as needed
  • Clear and courteous communication with staff and customers at all times.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Current MR Drivers Licence
  • Level 2 Accreditation - Operational Inspection of Children's Playgrounds (AS 4685:2014).
  • Operation of machinery and equipment safely and to standards including - Chainsaw, Electric Hand tools
  • An ability to understand and accept changes in the workplace and to respond to the processes of change management.
