Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our team. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Key tasks include conducting routine maintenance, identifying mechanical issues, using diagnostic equipment, and performing repairs in line with safety and manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate will have proven experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair advanced and complex mechanical faults on a range of vehicles.
- Conduct extensive and complex diagnostics (both mechanical and electrical) using computer technology and specialized tools.
- Provide quality control and inspection of vehicles, assessing damage and providing quotes for repair work.
- Perform general and detailed engine component overhauls using various workshop machines and specialized tools.
- Fit and balance new tyres, and align wheels.
- Repair and replace worn and defective parts, and reassemble mechanical components after being repaired.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes and lubrications, and clean and lubricate assembled articles.
- Test and adjust the vehicle after being repaired for proper performance.
- Inspect vehicle conditions and issue roadworthiness certificates when required.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, ensure the workshop is kept tidy and meets OH&S standards, and ensure equipment and tools are kept in good working order.
Performance Appraisal: Three months after the starting date, then half yearly or when required.
Qualification & Requirements:
- Provide Certificate III or above
- Effectively use hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical hazards
- Able to perform heavy physical labour
- Great attentions to details
- No skin allergies or reactions to grease, oil or petrol
Remuneration:
$76,600 + superannuation
