About the role

Hill Earthmoving & Civil Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Civil construction staff members, including Plant Operators and a Civil Engineer, to join our dynamic team in Rockhampton, Queensland. This is a full-time role, offering competitive remuneration and excellent opportunities for career development within a growing civil construction company.

What HEC is after:

Plant Operator Role:

  • Operate Graders to a final trim standard (GPS and UTS)
  • Operate Excavators 2T-50T to a final trim standard (GPS)
  • Operate Skid steers
  • Operate trucks including Semi/Float work, Truck and Dogs and Water Trucks

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant experience in civil construction, with a focus on plant operation
  • Licences and certifications for operating heavy plant and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards

Civil Engineer Role - This can be a part time role*

  • Assist the management team in the tender process of projects
  • Cost tracking of current projects
  • QA and QC management and documentation
  • HSEQ compliance and implementation
  • Attending site inspections and meetings
  • Potential for getting your hands dirty

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor degree in civil engineering
  • Proven experience with project tendering and management of QA and QC
  • Someone looking to grow with a small business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office program
