Maintenance Fitter

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform onsite mechanical maintenance in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing facility
• Fault find and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Respond to breakdowns and scheduled preventative maintenance (PMs)
• Repair and maintain food manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Evaluate plant systems and determine necessary maintenance or repairs
• Work closely with maintenance management, planners, and other trades to prioritise and plan tasks
• Liaise with production managers and supervisors to address equipment issues
• Attend callouts and after-hours issues during rostered shifts
• Adhere to WHS legislation and permit-to-work systems
• Maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement of maintenance processes

Skills and Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of plant and equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Demonstrated experience in FMCG or livestock processing environments desirable
• Ability to assess, prioritise, and carry out mechanical repairs under pressure
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with WHS procedures and safety systems
• Computer literacy and basic MS Office experience
• C Class driver's licence required
• Relevant trade qualification in mechanical fitting or similar
