Café Manager

Prettys Place Bar & Grill in Kingston Village is more than just a café – we're the heartbeat of Ocean Grove mornings, the spot where regulars know your name and great coffee meets genuine hospitality. We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Café Manager who can keep our engine running smooth while making every customer feel like part of the family.

Regular & consistent shifts – daytime only, no evenings

Your Day-to-Day:

· Run daily operations from open to close – POS reconciliation, lock-up, the lot

· Lead and inspire your front-of-house team during service. Maintaining a positive and professional image for the cafe, both internally and externally, serving as a role model for all staff.

· Hire, roster, and manage FOH staff - Hiring, training, and supervising staff members & creating and managing staff rosters to ensure optimal coverage during all operating hours

· Control stock ordering and supplier relationships (keeping COGS tight)

· Developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue, including promotions, special events, and seasonal menu changes

· Be the problem-solver when things get busy or tricky

· Maintain strict food safety and workplace compliance standards

· Making top-quality coffee and confidently operating the point-of-sale (POS) register

· You've managed a café or hospitality venue before (2+ years minimum)

· You're a people person who makes staff and customers feel valued

· You've got strong barista skills and love talking coffee

· You thrive in the buzz of a busy service and stay cool under pressure

· You lead from the front – your team knows you've got their back

· You're commercially savvy and understand the numbers that matter

The Essentials: ✓ Australian work rights required ✓ 2+ years café/hospitality management experience ✓ POS system experience ✓ Food safety knowledge and compliance experience
