Australian Garnet owns the Lucky Bay Garnet Mine, which has a mine life of 30 years. We are an owner miner with our own fleet of mining equipment, have a fully operational processing plant, packaging plant and 7 wind turbines, construction was completed approximately 2 years ago.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Mechanical Fitterto join our team working on our recently constructed Lucky Bay mine site. The mine has a 30 year + mine life and is located within a thirty minute drive from Kalbarri township.

This position will maintain mechanical equipment on site and will be working a 8 days on/6 days off/ 7 nights on/ 7 nights off roster.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain assigned equipment, and perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot during engine / mechanical breakdown and organize a remedy;
  • Conduct work in a safe manner, using the Take-5's job hazard analysis (JHA's) to meet safety standards.
  • Carry out Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs to Company equipment in accordance with Planned Maintenance Processes.
  • Maintain all required logbooks and inspection reports as per company procedure.
  • Report all Faults and Defects to maintenance personnel, offering potential solutions.

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Trade Mechanical Fitter qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Workshop and/or Field Services.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attitude in getting the job done safely and within the required time frames.
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Drivers Licence - Manual
  • Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
