The Role:

As a Traineeship - Service Technician, you play a crucial role in ensuring life-saving marine safety equipment is always ready for action. You'll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and certifying marine life rafts while also handling essential administrative duties to support the smooth operation of our service department.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong administrative and organizational skills, ensuring that both our safety equipment and service operations meet the highest standards. Your work directly contributes to saving lives at sea and supporting the efficient management of our marine services.

Your Career Opportunity: Join our team and grow your career with us. You will report directly to the Marine Team Leader, working closely with both the service team and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Duties:

Conduct regular inspections of marine life rafts to ensure compliance with international and local safety standards.

Perform necessary repairs, including testing, equipment replacements, and other maintenance tasks.

Check and test inflation mechanisms, ancillary equipment, and other critical components.

Ensure all serviced life rafts meet required safety certifications and regulatory compliance.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and certifications.

Provide technical support and guidance to customer service and sales regarding the proper use and maintenance of life rafts and safety equipment.

Stay updated on new regulations, technologies, and best practices in marine safety.

Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and equipment, ensuring adequate supplies are available for repairs and maintenance.

Assist in ordering and managing inventory as needed.

Skills & Requirements:

Strong technical skills with the ability to perform detailed inspections and repairs.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and regulations.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in using computers, including data entry and record-keeping Software.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.

Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.

Work Environment:

The role involves working in both a workshop and office environment with exposure to various tools, equipment, and administrative tasks.

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrated experience with mechanical systems.

Confidence in using a computer or other mobile devices.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
