We are currently seeking a skilled, proactive, and safety-conscious Production Operator to contribute to their high-quality output.
About the Role:
This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you will be an integral part of our client's Acoustics Manufacturing team. You will be directly involved in the precision production of their specialised ceramic products, operating advanced machinery and ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards. Our client fosters a culture of continuous improvement and expects their team members to contribute ideas and maintain a high level of safety awareness, especially within their "Lead Area" safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kiln Operations: Day-to-day loading and unloading of products through various kilns, including the precise operation and programming of kiln profiles in strict conjunction with batch card instructions.
- Press Room Operations: Operating a range of ceramic presses, including the Isostatic Press, Meyer Press, and Osterwalder Press, and performing critical density checks to meet manufacturing specifications.
- Material Processing Support: Actively assisting the team with various stages of new batch material manufacturing, such as Ball Milling, Filter Pressing, loading of Calcine Kilns, Binder Burn-off Kilns, and operating Spray Drying equipment.
- Equipment Management & Maintenance: Setting up equipment and tool workstations for manufacturing, thoroughly cleaning equipment and cooling systems periodically, and undertaking routine maintenance tasks. This also includes overseeing complex maintenance tasks performed by external contractors.
- Quality & Traceability: Ensuring all "raw material" and "work in progress" are suitably identified and all traceability requirements have been correctly implemented.
- Workplace Standards: Maintaining all work areas in a neat and tidy manner and ensuring all work is performed in a safe and planned manner as agreed in weekly production meetings.
- Team Collaboration & Support: Assisting the area supervisor with assigned tasks to achieve section output and objectives, providing suggestions for improvement to equipment and processes, and working cooperatively as part of a high-performing team.
To thrive in this challenging yet rewarding role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within ceramics, advanced materials processing, or a related high-precision industry
- A strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to competently operate complex production machinery
- Basic computer proficiency for programming equipment and administrative tasks
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a production environment
- A high degree of accountability for your work and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively and leading/motivating other production staff when required
- Physical capability for the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 20kg
- Flexibility to adapt to varying production demands and assist with diverse tasks as required
What Our Client Offers:
- A competitive hourly rate with superannuation
- Access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities in a highly specialised and growing industry
- A supportive, collaborative, and team-oriented workplace culture where your contributions are valued
- A steadfast commitment to workplace health and safety
- The chance to work with advanced materials and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques within the acoustics sector
