Senior Rehabilitation Advisor

Bowen Hills, Queensland, Australia Department of Health - Queensland Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

In this role you will contribute to the effective development, coordination and delivery of a professional wellbeing, rehabilitation and return to work management services across Department of Health Divisions. You will work in alignment with Department strategic values and operational priorities to achieve consistent and relevant state-wide work health and safety, wellbeing and rehabilitation practices and performance outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Provide comprehensive rehabilitation and return to work case management for work related and non-work related cases, keeping with Department of Health's strategic values and priorities.
  • Provide high level advice and timely assistance to stakeholders on wellbeing, rehabilitation and return to work activities and programs while interpreting legislation, standards, Codes and regulatory requirements and implementing changes as required.
  • Liaise, engage and negotiate with WorkCover Queensland, the Regulator, QSuper and other superannuation entities to ensure effective management of claims and cases. Build close working relationships with stakeholders and managers to identify and integrate wellbeing, rehabilitation and stay at work initiatives into business lines while positively influencing continuous improvement activities.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

  • Technical knowledge and expertise in the area of workers' compensation standards and relevant employment legislation with experience in coordinating and delivering wellbeing, health and rehabilitation outcomes to a geographically dispersed organisation.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and implement best practice health and wellbeing systems, programs and practices through researching, analysing and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Capacity to manage competing priorities, achieve and contribute positively to team goals in a multi-disciplinary work environment.
  • Diverse and demonstrated experience in management of work and non-work related injuries and illnesses, including cases of a complex nature with a record of effective application in achieving outcomes.
