The Opportunity
Are you a recent science-based graduate looking to build experience and networks in soil science?
We have an opportunity for a Soil Action Support Officer to be part of our Major Programs and Regions Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The role supports the implementation of key activities under the South Australian Soils Collaboration Centre and the National Soil Action Plan 2023–2028, with a focus on enhancing soil knowledge and promoting sustainable soil management. It involves assisting with the collation and organisation of technical resources, supporting communication and engagement initiatives, and contributing to the development and maintenance of stakeholder networks.
The position plays an important role in delivering agency priorities and divisional objectives by supporting industry and community efforts to protect and sustain South Australia's natural soil resources.

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

- Full time opportunity, 37.5 hours per week
Requirements
- Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.

- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

- Enrolled in or recently completed a tertiary qualification in agriculture, soil science, environmental science or related field.
Remuneration
ASO3 - $67,589 min - $72,033 max per annum, plus superannuation
