See Yourself in the Team
Join a squad where legacy meets innovation Our DPS squad are leading the charge in modernising a unified on-prem environment and driving its evolution into a cloud-enabled ecosystem. We're a team of platform engineers, automation experts, and infrastructure specialists who thrive on solving complex challenges, simplifying legacy systems, and building scalable, secure platforms that support critical business operations.

Here, you'll work on high-impact initiatives, collaborate with passionate technologists, and contribute to a transformation that touches every layer of the tech stack. Your impact will help shape the next generation of infrastructure platforms.

Whether you're deep in automation, obsessed with reliability, or excited by cloud-native design, there's space for your expertise and your growth.

Your Impact & Contribution
As a Principal Platform Engineer in the DPS On-Prem team, you will lead the modernisation of legacy infrastructure and drive strategic initiatives to uplift reliability, resilience, and automation across compute, storage, and networking environments. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of DPS platforms, guiding cloud migration strategy, and embedding engineering excellence across squads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the uplift of legacy DPS infrastructure, improving reliability, resilience, and scalability across compute, storage, and networking domains.
  • Architect and guide the transition of on-prem workloads to AWS or Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum automation through best-practice patterns.
  • Champion automation using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline provisioning, compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Integrate telemetry and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to enable proactive alerting, system self-healing, and performance optimisation.
  • Implement encryption and secrets management using HashiCorp Vault, AWS KMS, or Azure Key Vault, ensuring compliance with APRA CPS 234, GDPR, and APP standards.
  • Enhance backup and DR posture across on-prem and cloud environments using Commvault, Veeam, NetApp, Rubrik, or Cohesity.
  • Engineer secure, scalable platforms using Kubernetes (EKS/OpenShift), EC2, Fargate, and/or Azure Kubernetes Service, with a focus on containerisation, IAM, and networking.
  • Partner with cloud architects, delivery teams, and vendors to ensure seamless integration, performance, and governance.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, guide engineering decisions across squads, and mentor teams to foster a culture of innovation, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Your Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading the uplift of legacy infrastructure and transitioning workloads to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) using best-practice patterns.
  • Expertise in Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) to automate provisioning, compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS/OpenShift), EC2, Fargate, Azure Kubernetes Service, and container orchestration.
  • Strong knowledge of telemetry tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and system self-healing strategies.
  • Familiarity with secrets management and encryption tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault), and regulatory frameworks (APRA CPS 234, GDPR, APP).
  • Experience with enterprise-grade backup and DR solutions including Commvault, Veeam, NetApp, Rubrik, and Cohesity.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking (VPC, subnets, routing, firewalls) and identity/access management (IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and collaborate across squads and domains.
