JOB TITLE: Project Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and assists project teams in the delivery of work scopes to ensure that all client contractual requirements are met in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Provide support to the Project teams in contract delivery to ensure that all client contractual requirements are met in the most cost effective and efficient manner. This is to be achieved via
  • Assisting the delivery streams; business acquisition, contract delivery, technical delivery and act as a link between the regional team and the Core Decommissioning Team, ensuring appropriate support is being utilised during various phases of the project.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the contract requirements and direct preliminary planning stages as necessary for each project.
  • Know the status of client relationships on all projects within portfolio.
  • Provide support to Bid Team Lead in tender development and submission where required.
  • Provide support to the Project team from a technical perspective with regards to assurance activities.
  • Provide support to the Project team in interrogating their planning packs and cost reports.
  • Provide support to the Project team in identifying areas of deviation and potential corrective actions.
  • Liaise with relevant staff to ensure that the project monitoring system is implemented adequately and that output on financial performance is reviewed at the appropriate level and frequency to ensure effective control of the project budget.
  • Assist in the development of risk assessments and know which projects have high post-mitigation risks.
  • Co-ordinate, in conjunction with the Core Decommissioning Team, the development and establishment of the project documentation as required.
  • Co-ordinate, in conjunction with the Core Decommissioning Team, the development and establishment of the project planning packages together with the mechanisms for monitoring subsequent progress against that plan.
  • Monitor payments from clients and initiate payments to suppliers and sub-contractors ensuring all terms and conditions have been met.
  • Assist in monitoring the performance of suppliers and subcontractors to determine compliance with contractual obligations. Resolve issues arising from disputes or sub-standard performance.
  • Assist in resolving any contractual/legal matters and ensure that appropriate action is taken which does not compromise nor expose Petrofac to unnecessary risk.
  • Provide commercial and technical input for the Contracts Department at the estimation stage, when requested, ensuring that adequate provision is made for all proposed activities.
  • Understand project insurance requirements and initiate action to secure coverage in line with contractual obligations.
  • Act as the Company's official representative with clients, suppliers, partners and third party contractors - negotiating terms and conditions where necessary, ensuring that Company interests are both optimised and protected.
  • Participate in a formal review of the project with relevant parties on completion and identify opportunities for learning and development.
  • Establishes and maintains good relations with clients, partners and local authorities aimed at safeguarding and promoting Petrofac' s interests.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and approves and manages the implementation of technological advances to enhance Petrofac' s capabilities.

  • Responsible for completion of projects within budget and schedule.
  • Key decisions are taken in consultation with the project director in terms of organization, project execution, specific areas on a project with the client, direction of project drawing on inputs from departmental managers.
  • Coordinates all activities for the successful execution of the project within project schedules and contractual requirements.
  • Oversees all coordination between Petrofac and client, vendors, Engineering, sub-contractors and any other external or internal agency to ensure the smooth execution of the project

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated industry working experience on similar projects
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Extensive experience with budgeting and analysis.
  • Proven ability to be able to comfortably manage multiple tasks
  • Extensive applied knowledge of tendering and award processes.
  • Demonstrated experience of contract and subcontractor management.
  • Track record of coordinating/supervising all logistics and materials disciplines associated with the support disciplines necessary to facilitate an offshore oil and gas projects.
