About the Role

As our Cybersecurity & IT Systems Engineer, you will be the backbone of Cybertify's technology operations, a critical, multi-faceted role that blends internal IT administration with client-facing project management and security delivery.

You'll manage and secure Cybertify's internal infrastructure while also leading client projects, implementations, and security operations. This is a hybrid technical and client-facing position that spans cloud, identity, networks, and compliance, giving you visibility across enterprise technologies and regulated sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Internal IT Management

• Design, deploy, and manage internal IT infrastructure (devices, SaaS platforms, network tools, access controls).
• Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud workloads including Entra ID, Intune (MDM), Exchange Online, and Purview compliance suite.
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding, device lifecycle management, and support across laptops, SaaS, and collaboration tools.
• Maintain IT asset inventory, licensing, and vendor relationships.
• Ensure uptime, performance, and resilience of internal systems.

Internal Security Operations

• Implement and enforce internal security policies, processes, and standards (access management, device hardening, password/MFA).
• Deploy and maintain endpoint protection, logging, vulnerability management, and zero trust practices.
• Support and optimise Microsoft Defender, Conditional Access, Entra ID PIM, Purview DLP, and related controls.
• Operate and maintain EDR/XDR tooling (CrowdStrike, Sophos, Abnormal Security, etc.) to monitor and respond to threats.
• Contribute to compliance efforts across ISO 27001, NIST CSF, Essential 8, and other regulatory frameworks.

Client Operations & Delivery

• Serve as a key point of contact for client IT and security operations, managing tickets, escalations, and technical delivery.
• Support client environments with monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, and compliance alignment.
• Implement Zero Trust architectures, IAM solutions, and network security controls for client organisations.
• Manage client endpoint and infrastructure security (NinjaOne, Sophos, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, and equivalent platforms).
• Assist with client onboarding, security uplift projects, audits, and compliance-driven IT initiatives.
• Work alongside Cybertify consultants to deliver technical input into GRC, incident response, and penetration testing remediation projects.
• Provide regular client reporting, project updates, and status tracking, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed scope and deadlines.

Ideal Candidate

3–5 years of IT and security operations experience.

• Email Security: Abnormal Security, Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365
