About the Role:

Due to continued business growth, we are in need of an experienced design engineer to join our diverse and dynamic company. We are looking for someone with excellent analysis and communication skills and an enthusiasm to learn.

Reporting to the Associates and Directors, you will assist on challenging projects from their inception to completion and will foster and maintain a strong client relationship.

You will work beside experienced ASP3 designers, which have a range of diverse backgrounds (consultancy, ex-utility, trades etc.) and have a significant number of years' experience as ASP3 designers, thriving as part of a dynamic team of engineers. You will provide a full range of supply authority design solutions for building services and infrastructure projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scoping of ASP3 high voltage projects for a range of clients (residential, commercial, universities, schools, utilities, industrial, mining, health, defence).

  • Build relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Management and delivery of electrical projects from concept, through design and construction.

  • Support our HV and LV distribution teams with ASP3 design advice and in an Authority Liaison role.

  • Negotiate with Supply Authorities, obtaining approvals and certifications.

  • Attend client meetings and site inspections.

  • Ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Group Leader.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree qualified engineer (must be recognised by Engineers Australia).

  • Minimum 4 years of local experience undertaking ASP3 design and coordination.

  • A team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Ability and experience in Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, and is available Essential Energy

  • Report / fee writing

  • Ability to manage/work with junior engineers

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to work autonomously and control projects from start to finish, including design works where required.
