Spano Group is an award winning independent family supermarket retailer with over 30 years retailing experience, currently looking for a casual Butcher (Slicer) to join our team in our Robina IGA store.

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Butcher (or Slicer) to commence immediately in a casual capacity approx hours per week). This hands-on role will suit a fit energetic person looking for a position within the supermarket industry. From preparing and presenting prime cuts and providing exceptional customer service this role is a pivotal role in our business.

The Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of products, including cutting, trimming, and slicing
  • Operation of machinery and equipment (including mincer)
  • Packing, wrapping, and labelling products (as required)
  • Providing exemplary customer service, including responding to enquiries and requests
  • Maintaining general department cleanliness
  • Compliance with all relevant legislation, including Food Safety, Trade Measurement, and Occupational Health & Safety, etc.
  • Uphold and maintain all Policies & Procedures, including uniform standards
  • Experience as a butcher (or slicer) in either a supermarket or an independent Butcher shop.
  • Deliver high retail standards within the Meat department
  • Australian Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) or equivalent Qualified Butcher would be highly regarded
