About the Role:

The Lead EHS Advisor will work onsite on the construction of the Uungala Wind Farm located near Wellington NSW.

We will consider applicants for FIFO/DIDO from anywhere in Australia, working on a 3:1 roster.

Flights & local housing accommodation included, site vehicle provided plus $65 daily per diem.

Contract length is 12 months initially with expectation to extend beyond

Indicative Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, communication and worker engagement.
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems.
  • Review and maintain risk management documentation in line with contractual, OFSC and Australian legislative requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes to ensure compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Standards.

  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for construction activities.

  • Conduct audits, inspections and GEMBA walks in line with the compliance calendar.
  • Drive EHS initiatives such as safety campaigns, wellbeing programs and near-miss reporting.
  • Support site EHS Advisors in developing, testing and reviewing emergency response plans and drills.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses and environmental events on-site.
  • Report incidents to regulatory authorities in line with statutory requirements.

  • Support injured workers through rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.

  • Address safety breaches, unsafe behaviours and non-compliance with site procedures.
  • Review and update risk assessments, SWMS and safety procedures as required.
  • Liaise with regulators, auditors and external stakeholders during inspections and post-incident reviews

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in safety, preferably within the wind industry
  • Relevant Industry Construction Project experience such as Wind, Oil & Gas, Construction (Green Field and Brown Field) projects
  • WHS diploma and Certificate VI - WHS essential
  • White Card
  • Valid driver's license
  • Audit/ISO accreditation
