BMG Group operates eclectic underground venues (Miss Demeanour and Brew Cafe & Wine Bar).

Nestled down the graffitied laneways of Lower Burnett Lane and Rowes Lane. Our venues are located in the centre of Brisbane CBD

We offer exceptional coffee, meals and alcoholic beverages in a warm and cosy environment.

We operate from early in the morning till late at night, 7 days a week - meaning a variety of shifts are available for a dedicated hospitality professional.

We are looking for experienced and passionate Day and Night Supervisors, FOH staff and experienced baristas who have the confidence to deliver exceptional, personalised service to our guests.

Barista:

You will have:

  • Minimum 1–2 years barista experience in a fast-paced cafe or venue.
  • Confident with dial-ins, milk texturing, and multi-order management.
  • Knowledge of batch brew, and all things non coffee too.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, energetic attitude.
  • High standards of cleanliness, organisation, and consistency.
  • Availability for early mornings, weekends, and peak service periods.
  • A genuine love for coffee and an ability to stay cool calm and collected during rushes.
  • A passion for building relationships with regular customers and being a part of the team and community.

Day Supervisor:

You will need to:

  • Be responsible for the whole team delivering a place of welcome, and comfort to every guest that comes in through the doors.
  • Ensure service runs smoothly during each and every shift by being hands on in the cafe and leading from the front.
  • With the whole team, keep the cafe looking smart, maintaining cleanliness and a safe environment for all.
  • Control costs on each shift, ensuring that daily admin is completed in a timely fashion.

You will have:

  • Great energy, and enthusiasm for the service industry.
  • Experience in a similar role - fast food, cafe, restaurant or other.
  • Confident communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Sound decision making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in a high volume cafe is preferred.

Night Supervisor:

You will need to:

  • Attend meetings with management and team regarding operations
  • Source and train staff to best fit the bar's needs
  • Schedule staff in an efficient manner to best cover the demands of the customers
  • Communicate with vendors to assure the appropriate amount of products are on hand for the forecasted demand
  • Resolve all staff conflicts swiftly and properly
  • Assure all transactions and banking are conducted with no variance
  • Work shifts required to meet the needs of the bar. This may include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Spend busy nights proactively managing customers to ensure their dining experience is the best
  • Control costs on each shift, ensuring that daily admin is completed in a timely fashion.

You will have:

  • 4+ years in the Hospitality industry
  • 2+ years of leadership capacity across Food & Beverage
  • Current RSA Certifications
  • RMLV a benefit, but not a requirement
  • A history of running a profitable bar
  • Knowledge of modern POS systems
  • Current Mixologist education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Great energy, and enthusiasm for the service industry.
