ABOUT THE ROLE

An opportunity has arisen at Knox Grammar School as a Science Laboratory Technician.  This position is a full time, permanent opportunity working at the Senior Campus.

The Laboratory technicians work with the Laboratory Manager in the day to day management of the Science Laboratories and will work with the teaching staff in promoting quality practical work in the classroom. The role will extend into a supporting role in the classroom by providing technical expertise when required.

You will be successful in:

  • Allocating and prioritising tasks within a Laboratory setting
  • Determining the requirements of practicals/experiments to support science teachers
  • Preparing and reviewing risk assessments
  • Coaching staff through safety requirements
  • Reviewing and managing the asset register
  • Flexibility, initiative and resourcefulness
  • Organisational and communication skills
