Make an impact at Serco
As a Senior Nurse - Primary Care at Acacia Prison, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering healthcare services to a prison population of approximately 1500 inmates. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing expert guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to ensure high-quality care is delivered. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Wooroloo, WA.

As a Senior Nurse in the Primary Care team, you'll make a positive impact by:

- Coordinating and managing the provision of primary healthcare services to inmates
- Supporting clinical assessments, care planning, and discharge processes
- Providing mentorship and guidance to new staff and ensuring best practice standards- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality services
- Assisting in risk assessments, patient support, and harm minimisation strategies
- Supporting quality improvement projects and participating in policy development
- Maintaining comprehensive clinical documentation and adhering to facility requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse – Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)
- Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of quality improvement and evidence-based practice in healthcare- Experience working in a primary nursing setting, ideally within a forensic or correctional environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
- Understanding of legislation related to Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, and Occupational Health & Safety
