**About the Opportunity**

The vocational training team is tasked with offering purposeful activities to prisoners, such as employment, career opportunities, vocational training, and skills development. Serco's approach emphasizes equipping prisoners with employment skills, qualifications, and work experience to enhance their prospects for employment upon release.

**What you’ll be doing**

As the Vocational Trainer - Carpentry, your primary responsibility is to conduct and assess various vocational training programs tailored for inmates, with a focus on helping them seamlessly reintegrate into the community and secure employment upon release.

**About you - your ideal skills & experience**

**Experiences / Qualifications***
- Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience.
- Relevant qualification (Certificate II, III, or IV) in carpentry or construction.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
- Alternatively, completion of Certificate IV in Training & Assessment accreditation within the first year of employment.
- Familiarity with regulations or specific work requirements pertinent to the trade area.
- Capability to plan, organize, and deliver structured courses to adult learners.

This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a federal police check as an essential selection component for this role.
