Drives, Chats & Country Yarns - Volunteer to Brighten the Day of a Local Legend in Caves Beach

Do you enjoy a scenic drive and a good chat? We're looking for a friendly volunteer to spend time with an older gentleman in Caves Beach who would love some company for a weekly or fortnightly drive and conversation.

He's a retired farmer with a passion for the land, merino sheep, and the simple pleasures of country life — and he's got a treasure trove of stories to share. Add in his love of sailing and the coast, and you're in for some rich and memorable conversations.

If you've got a kind heart, a car, and a little time to spare, this could be the most rewarding drive of your week.

No special skills required — just a listening ear and a friendly smile.



Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability
