About the Role
Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
This position is required to perform translational research projects within the CRC for Cell therapy Manufacturing and is the link between basic research and full GMP manufacturing in the clean room laboratories of CMT at RPA. To conduct research on milestone-driven grant funded projects, leading to development of clinically-relevant cell and gene therapy manufacturing methods. In this position you will translate your skills in cell enrichment, cell expansion, gene transfer, flow cytometry, quantitative PCR, and bioassays into validated processes and procedures to produce commercial ready data For more information, please view the Position Description.Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Science and experience in a relevant area of research such as haematology, immunology, cell biology and/or cancer biology.
- Availability and willingness to participate in an on-call and out of hours call back roster to meet operational and project requirements.
- Understanding of equipment and process validation in the context of Good Manufacturing Practice compliance for cell and gene therapies.
