The Opportunity

We are seeking qualified Advanced Care Paramedics to join our casual pool supporting the ERS site teams. These roles are FIFO from Perth. The opportunity is to provide services for one of the world's largest gold miners.

The Paramedics provides advanced emergency after hours medical care, involving assessing patient conditions, making critical decisions under pressure, and delivering swift, effective medical treatment in emergency situations in mine site environments. You will respond to on-site emergencies and ensure the site and emergency equipment is maintained in a state of readiness. With no two days the same, you will use your technical expertise and your ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, to provide expert care to our site team members, visitors and the surrounding community. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing advanced pre-hospital care to patients in need
  • Liaising and consulting with medical service providers as required
  • Conducting drug and alcohol screening
  • Operating and maintaining the site medical centres and ambulances to ensure operational readiness whilst maintaining hygiene standards

About You

  • Experience in Pre-hospital care, primary health and industrial medicine
  • Strong understanding of WHS, injury management and return to work coordination
  • Experience with Teleheatlh (desirable)
  • Thorough understanding of clinical governance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Paramedic
  • Mine Site experience required
  • Team orientated nature with excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work in remote environments with a proactive solutions focused approach
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to provide a high standard of customer service and establish strong working relationships

Requirements

  • Degree in Paramedicine or equivalent
  • AHPRA Registration (current & without restriction)
  • ALS1 (Advanced Life Support)
  • HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
  • PUAVEH001 – Drive Vehicle Under Operational Conditions
  • RIIVEH305F Operate & Maintain a 4×4 Vehicle
  • RII30719 – Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue (or equivalent) must include: Undertake confined space rescue (PUASAR025), Undertake vertical rescue (PUASAR032) & Road crash rescue (PUASAR024)
  • Drivers Licence (C Class)
  • HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – current within 12 months

Desirable Qualifications / Working towards

  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Or, PHTLS – Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support
  • Certificate IV Emergency Response Coordination
  • BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
