MTE has the capability and capacity to deliver turn-key solutions at scale with facilities in Edinburgh & Roxby Downs, South Australia. This includes the provision of engineered products from design drawings, manufacture & fabrication, surface treatment and QA/QC and the provision of end-to-end services spanning design, manufacture, fabrication, construction, installation and on-site commissioning.

Join our team as a Mechanical Fitter/Machinist on a casual full-time basis. In this role, you'll carry out fitting and machining tasks with precision, adhering to specified procedures and standards.

What we're looking for:

  • Trade Qualified: Cert III in Fitting/Turning or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to construct and assemble mechanical systems and machine parts.
  • Engineering Drawings: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings for manufacturing and machining.
  • Machinery Operation: Skilled in safely operating manual lathes and milling machines of various sizes.
  • Precision: Competence with a variety of measuring instruments.
  • Versatility: Flexibility to take on a variety of tasks beyond fitting and machining as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Certifications: Valid Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry tickets (within the last 5 years).
  • Process-Oriented: Strong adherence to procedures and standards.
  • Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Client Liaison: Professionalism in communicating with clients during job execution.
  • Bonus Skills: HR or high-risk licences are highly regarded.
