About the role
We're looking for a bold, strategic leader to step into the Regional Manager role and take the reins of NHVR's safety and compliance operations across Victoria. This is your chance to help shape the future of heavy vehicle regulation in Australia.
This role isn't just about operations, it's about leading people through complexity and change. As Regional Manager, you'll be the driving force behind NHVR's safety and compliance operations across Victoria. Your leadership will directly impact how we keep heavy vehicle transport safe, efficient and consistent across borders.
You'll set the tone for your team, build capability, and shape a culture of accountability, professionalism and service. With a mix of hands-on oversight and high-level strategic input, you'll balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day delivery. This is a key leadership role that requires clarity, confidence, and a steady hand, someone who can make decisions, guide others and keep things moving forward.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Lead NHVR's operational delivery across Victoria
- Coach and support Principal Safety & Compliance Officers
- Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, and strategic ops projects
- Improve processes, drive innovation, and strengthen service delivery
- Be a key player in national transport reform.
About You
- At least 10 years leading operational teams in complex environments
- Strong communication, change leadership and problem-solving skills
- Someone who thrives under pressure and keeps people on track
- A sharp eye for strategy, safety, and service excellence

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as the national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. The NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistences across state and territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.
We are headquartered in Brisbane and employ more than 1000 people across the ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.
