Laboratory Technician

About the role

Our valued client, a leading organisation within the gold mining sector, is seeking a motivated and experienced Laboratory Technician to join their site-based team on a casual basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing laboratory operation within a safety-focused mining environment.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out routine and specialised laboratory tests
• Preparing and processing samples for testing, including weighing, grinding, and digestion
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation AAS machines etc
• Accurately recording and documenting test results
• Adhering to strict quality control and safety standards

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in the Gold mining or minerals processing industry
• Minimum 1-2 years of laboratory experience required
• Proficiency in operating a range of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• AAS experience and familiarity with mineral or gold analysis highly regarded
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety and quality control

Additional requirements

• ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
• possess or ability to obtain a current National police clearance
• availability for an immediate start.
