About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Property Accountant
to join our finance team. This role is responsible for the financial reporting and accounting of CPG's property portfolio — including assets held directly and via joint ventures. You will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, and delivering insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.

Working closely with internal teams (Property Management, Operations, and Development) and external advisors (auditors, tax agents, and JV partners), this role offers exposure to a diverse and high-performing property portfolio.

Key Tasks

  • Prepare and manage financial reports for property portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers to deliver accurate budgeting and forecasting and provide variance analysis.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow for assigned properties.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and audits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage month-end accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordinate the month-end process and distribute management reports to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate preparation of year-end reporting packages and liaise with external accountants regarding tax, compliance, and audit matters.
  • Prepare and coordinate annual outgoings estimates and reconciliation processes.
  • Partner with Property Management and Leasing teams to ensure accurate tenant receivables, incentives, and outgoings recovery.
  • Act as systems super user for administration, maintenance, and enhancements across
    MRI
    and
    MyBuildings
    .
  • Perform other duties as required by the role and/or directed by the Directors from time to time.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, and
    CA/CPA qualified
    .
  • Minimum
    5 years' experience in property accounting
    .
  • Background in property or professional services with relevant client exposure.
  • Experience within audit or business services preferred.
  • MRI experience is essential.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Strong wrtitten and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented with the ability to liaise professionally across all levels.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to multitask and work autonomously.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Flexible mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where structures and procedures are evolving.
  • Professional, results-driven, with a strong work ethic and high integrity.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within a family office or private investment group.
  • Experience with MRI General Ledger (PMX) and MyBuildings software.
