About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Designer to join our team at Neater Constructions (Q) Pty Ltd' in Cairns, Queensland. As a fulltime Building Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of residential and commercial building projects, contributing to the strategic vision and growth of our business.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings and plans for building projects in compliance with relevant building codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with clients, construction teams, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop innovative design solutions
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather necessary information for design development
  • Obtain necessary approvals and permits from local authorities
  • Provide technical advice and support during the construction phase
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in architectural design

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Building Design, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Building Designer, preferably in the residential and commercial construction industry
  • Proficient in using computer-aided design (Revit) software or secondary, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction industry
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients, construction teams, and other stakeholders
