Experience Summary

We are seeking an Apprentice Motor Mechanic with a genuine passion for cars and the motor trade. We will consider apprentices with no experience, and we will also consider apprentices with one or two years trade experience.

Applicants must hold a valid driver's licence (manual preferred) and be available full-time (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am–4.30pm). You must be able to follow training instructions, work well in a team environment, and show reliability with a strong commitment to attend work every day.

The Opportunity

At Malvern Auto Services, apprentices begin hands-on work with cars from Day 1. You will gain skills quickly, supported by experienced staff who will help you develop into a confident technician. Your growth in the trade will depend on your performance, attitude, and work ethic.

About Us

Malvern Auto Services is a family-run Bosch workshop centrally located in Malvern. We have 10 staff members and provide a friendly, professional, and supportive work environment. Our workshop features:

  • A modern, clean workspace with 5 brand-new Nussbaum inground scissor lifts and 2 new Rotary 2-post hoists
  • Full sets of special tools for most makes and models, with ongoing investment in new equipment
  • A focus on servicing and light to medium repairs (we sublet heavy/complex jobs) to keep work enjoyable, balanced, and sustainable.

We primarily service late-model vehicles, including European makes, ensuring a diverse and rewarding learning environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude or motor mechanic interest
  • Good secondary school results (preferably VCE Year 12)
  • Victorian driver's licence (manual preferred)
  • Excellent English skills (speaking, reading, writing) and computer literacy
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic
  • Must have the right to work in Australia
