Experience and personal attributes:

  • Experience in school leadership, or a role providing support and leadership in an independent school environment, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing significant improvement and change in an independent school setting.
  • Confident and inspiring educational leadership that prepares the College and its students for the future.
  • Outstanding knowledge of, and proven skills in, curriculum development, assessment and reporting, and curriculum operations.
  • A strong understanding of innovative educational practice as it relates to student learning, academic performance and student wellbeing.
  • Highly developed decision-making skills and a demonstrated ability to problem solve, think strategically, creatively and analytically.
  • A passion for excellence and innovation in education.
  • The ability to provide outstanding academic leadership.
  • Knowledge and understanding of emerging and current trends in teaching and learning and in educational practice.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a relevant field (teaching qualification)
  • Post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline focusing on leadership or education (preferred)
  • Registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • Knowledge of Australian curriculum and NESA requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NSW syllabus documents, including the ability to respond to student learning needs.
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • National Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
  • Committed to our school values and proactively contribute to our team
