About the Role

The Clinical Lead provides safe, person-centered care in line with NDIS standards. The role ensures compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, IDDS guidelines and clinical governance frameworks while supporting risk mitigation, medication management, staff development, and continuous improvement in clinical practices. The role works with the care team, support staff, allied health professionals, and clients to ensure delivery of safe, appropriate, and respectful care.

This is a Casual position requiring availability twice a week during operational hours, from 09:00am-05:00pm.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight for NDIS participant care
  • Collaborate with allied health & medical professionals
  • Conduct health assessments, risk profiles, and care reviews
  • Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards & clinical governance
  • Oversee medication administration and training
  • Participate in audits, incident reviews, and quality improvements
  • Deliver staff training & clinical supervision
  • Integrate the IDDS (Intellectual Disability & Dementia Services) model into care planning

Skills, Qualification and Experience

  • Degree or master's in nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in clinical nursing, preferably in disability, community, or aged care settings
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the IDDS framework (Intellectual Disability and Dementia Services) in participant care
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the NDIS Practice Standards, including clinical compliance, restrictive practices, risk assessment, and participant safeguarding
  • Certificate in Medication Administration Training or equivalent
  • Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current and valid Driver's License & Registered Vehicle
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • MAPA training not mandatory but desirable

About You

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care, dignity of risk, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, particularly in disability-related health conditions.
  • Proficiency in developing and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and medication protocols.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision and education to support workers, particularly regarding medication administration, manual handling, and infection control.
