So what about supervision support to develop my clinical skills?

We do all the usual stuff – but that's just a basic need right? Our clinical supervision looks like a lot more than chats on a regular basis. We provide opportunities for co-treatment with experienced therapists, hands on learning in sessions with kids families, video reviews to hone your clinical reasoning, master-class programs delivered by our experienced therapists an extensive back-catalogue of pre-recorded sessions around a huge range of clinical topics and the time in your days to digest these.

A generous professional development budget – nothing special - another basic right? Of course we provide this However we provide development in the context of a personalised plan based on our own in-house practice framework. We set clear measurable competencies at all stages and support you to reach this by accessing a full range of learning development opportunities.

So supervision is only as good as the person delivering it right? You can rest assured that our clinical supervisors have years of experience (some more than they are willing to own up to), who all still work clinically and will be present in your workplace working with you in all the formal ways but all the incidental informal ways too. We provide clinical coaching that develops you both professionally and personally to be the very best OT you can be

What would my caseload workload look like?

So you won't read wild claims here or mention of billable hours. We are about people About developing our people to be the best so they can best support the kids, families and communities we serve. We wholeheartedly believe that if we provide exciting and stimulating opportunities to follow your interests and provide "just right challenges" to allow for growth, allow you to be actively involved in development of new and innovative programs, enough reflection and off-client time you for development you will be your best and do your best and that's more meaningful than giving you a random number that has little comparative value. Our leadership team take a strong view that it is our responsibility to take care of the business so you can take care of the business of providing high quality therapy to kids families. Our interest in you is long term so there's no way we will burn you with ridiculous expectations and we also know no-one stays long-term for the hum drum of static caseloads or where they are stretched beyond their ability.

What about work/life balance?

There it is The big ticket item What we know is that this has different meaning for everyone and we don't pretend to offer a contrived program or systems that may or may not support your version of work/life balance. What we do is take the time to connect with you and get to know you personally, really listen to your goals, needs and priorities and support you to make great choices that match your personal and professional goals to ensure you are the best version of yourself and that this best version shows up for the kids families you work with, for your team and most importantly for those important people in your life

I'm a graduate – do you have a graduate program?

Of course we do We'd be silly not to right? We see ourselves as a teaching practice and have had a long commitment to student education. We also have a long established "grow your own OT" program whereby our OT assistants are developed through a transition program to become OTs. For those newly graduated or early career therapist, our graduate program isn't just some extra help and supervision to get going enough before we can fill your caseload. We offer a program that considers you as whole person and has development opportunities both professionally and personally via a staged competency based system we support you to work through. We see it as our responsibility to give you all the clinical skills you need to be a fabulously skilled paediatric OT. Uni gives you the degree, we give you the content knowledge and all the paed specific stuff. We don't expect you to come with this - just bring all those soft skills and a commitment to learn and we will do the rest alongside you

I'm an experienced OT - what's in it for me?

If you are out of the "early career" stage, the support doesn't stop it just morphs to better reflect your needs with things like advanced clinical coaching, peer mentoring and project opportunities.
