Head of Science (Senior School)

Haileybury is seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator to lead our Senior School Science Department across all four Melbourne campuses and Haileybury Pangea. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and passionate leader to guide a high-performing academic team, shape the future of science education, and continue to inspire students through classroom teaching.

This role combines an ongoing teaching position with a five-year fixed-term appointment as Head of Science (Senior School), commencing 1 January 2025. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting the strategic direction of science education at Haileybury, driving excellence in teaching and learning, and contributing to whole-school academic leadership and innovation.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading curriculum planning, assessment design, and resource development across the Senior School Science Department.
• Driving best practice in teaching and learning aligned with Haileybury's Explicit Teaching Model.
• Managing and supporting staff through recruitment, mentoring, performance oversight, and professional development.
• Overseeing departmental operations including budgeting, examinations, data analysis, and implementation of school-wide initiatives.

• Current VIT registration and a commitment to educational excellence and child safety.
