The Opportunity

Join a high-performing team at the forefront of financial systems and reinsurance operations, where data-driven insights and digital innovation shape strategic outcomes. As a Reinsurance Analyst within the Finance Operations & Reinsurance Centre of Excellence, you will play a pivotal role in producing accurate and timely monthly reinsurer bordereaux. Leveraging advanced analytical tools and the RIOS reinsurance system, you will validate transactional data across premiums, commissions, and claims, applying trend analysis to ensure data integrity and compliance with contractual obligations. Your attention to detail and analytical acumen will support effective reinsurer engagement and resolution of complex queries.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to RLA's broader digital transformation, including the implementation of automated solutions and a robust control framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Finance, Actuarial, Claims, and Technology to enhance reinsurance processes and systems, driving operational efficiency and alignment. As a key contributor to the Reinsurance Operations Self-Managed Team, you will help embed best-practice controls, identify process improvements, and support continuous uplift in reporting standards and stakeholder outcomes.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will provide leadership and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. How will you make an impact?

  • Monthly Bordereaux Production: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly reinsurer bordereaux, in line with contractual and internal requirements.

  • Data Accuracy and Trend Analysis: Validate reinsurance data for completeness and integrity. Analyse trends to identify anomalies and provide insights to relevant stakeholders.

  • Bordereaux Data Integrity Controls: Review and support the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of data integrity controls to ensure high-quality reporting.

  • Reinsurer Relationship Management: Act as a key point of contact for reinsurers, managing inbound queries and liaising on cash settlement processes in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

  • Control Framework & Process Improvement: Embed finance and actuarial control frameworks within the Reinsurance Operations Self-Managed Team (SMT). Drive continuous improvements in controls and processes across reinsurance accounting operations.

  • Process Efficiency and Innovation: Identify inefficiencies across reinsurance operations and propose practical, streamlined solutions that enhance accuracy, productivity, and internal collaboration.

  • Leadership and Mentoring: Support and mentor junior reinsurance analysts, ensuring high-quality output and that team deadlines and service levels are consistently met.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, actuarial, underwriting, and claims teams to ensure reinsurance data consistency and alignment across business functions.
