Test Analyst - Payroll

A leading financial services organisation is undertaking a major transformation of its HR systems, including payroll, time sheeting, and workforce management. The initiative aims to replace a fragmented system landscape with a unified Oracle-based platform that delivers real-time functionality and improved operational efficiency.

Your New Role

As a Test Analyst within the Payroll stream of this HR transformation program, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end testing strategy and execution. You'll lead test planning, design complex test scenarios, and guide junior testers while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of a robust and compliant payroll solution. This role demands deep payroll domain expertise and strong leadership in enterprise-scale testing environments.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and execution of test strategies, plans, and test cases for payroll functionality
  • Perform and oversee functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing activities
  • Validate payroll calculations, compliance rules, and data migration within Oracle HCM
  • Identify, document, and manage defects; drive resolution with development teams
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to align testing with business needs
  • Mentor junior test analysts and contribute to testing best practices
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and promote continuous improvement

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Extensive experience as a
    Test Analyst
    in payroll or HRIS transformation projects
  • Strong hands-on payroll testing expertise (ADP experience highly regarded but not essential)
  • Proven background in
    banking, insurance
    , or large
    financial services
    organisations
  • Deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and enterprise HR platforms (Oracle HCM preferred)
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent highly desirable
