About the role

As a Disability Support Worker at People Care Services, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals living with disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives. This part-time position is based in Hervey Bay, QLD, and offers flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised support and assistance to individuals with a range of disabilities, enabling them to participate in daily activities and achieve their goals
  • Assisting with personal care, including grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Facilitating community engagement and recreational activities to promote social inclusion
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure the highest quality of care
  • Collaborating with the broader care team to develop and implement individualised support plans
  • Advocating for the rights and needs of your clients

What we're looking for

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life
  • Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or healthcare preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with your clients
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual
  • A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
  • Completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification is highly regarded
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid National Police Check (no older than 12 months)
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa
