Prahran, Victoria, Australia Traild Software Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Traild: Who are we?

TRAILD is a dynamic, fast-growing SaaS company that streamlines, automates, and protects Accounts Payable.

Just as your bank provides always-on risk protection for your credit card, TRAILD provides the same level of security to help businesses protect their B2B payments from fraud, errors, and mistakes.

Our specialised Accounts Payable software integrates with leading ERP systems like SYSPRO, Acumatica, MYOB, and IFS to help clients make their AP process more streamlined, automated, and secure.

With a rapidly growing client base across APAC, NA, and EMEA, this is your chance to board the rocket ship at the right time. Together, we'll help more businesses digitise and scale their operations with automation and security at the core.

The Role: Senior Developer Experience Engineer (Platform Team)

We are looking for a Developer Experience Engineer to join our Platform team. This role focuses on improving how engineers build, test, deploy, and monitor our software. You will design and maintain tooling, observability, and CI/CD systems that accelerate developer productivity and platform reliability.

You'll collaborate closely with product and infrastructure teams to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and create a cohesive developer experience across our environments.

This role spans software engineering, systems thinking, and DevOps practices. You will own the developer toolchain end-to-end, from local development to production monitoring.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain internal developer tools that improve code quality, speed, and reliability.

  • Own observability systems — including logging, metrics, and alerting — to improve visibility and incident response.

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and delivery.

  • Partner with teams to improve local development workflows and environment parity with production.

  • Establish and evolve best practices for build systems, deployment automation, and platform monitoring.

  • Drive initiatives that reduce time-to-deploy and mean-time-to-recovery.

  • Contribute to platform scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency through thoughtful automation.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in modern CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).

  • Strong background in observability stacks (e.g. Datadog, New Relic).

  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or another language for automation and tooling.

  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native environments (preferably GCP).

  • Familiarity with Terraform or infrastructure as code.

  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills across systems and build pipelines.

  • A collaborative, customer-focussed mindset and focus on enabling others to ship faster with confidence.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with developer portals or internal platform tooling.

  • Background in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps.

  • Understanding of secure software supply chains and build provenance.

  • Experience supporting multi-tenant SaaS systems.

  • Candidates in Melbourne preferred for in-person collaboration.

Why Traild?

  • Flexibility: A range of remote, hybrid, and flexible working options.

  • Global reach: Be part of a growing team across APAC, NA, and EMEA.

  • Culture: Our team loves working here—we scored 100% on our 2023 eNPS survey.

  • Impact: Your work will directly protect businesses from payment fraud and errors, while enabling them to scale with confidence.

Please note: Final applicants will be asked to consent to a police/criminal background check, as permitted by law in your jurisdiction.
